The next-generation Hyundai i20 hatchback, which debuted this February, will soon have a full-fledged sports version from the Hyundai N. At the beginning of the year, it was tested in the Swedish town of Aierlug in the company of the rally i20 WRC and mid-engine prototype RM19, but only now the manufacturer shared official photos and video from the tests.

Visually, the Hyundai i20 N will differ from the younger versions of the model with more “evil” bumpers, rims with increased braking mechanisms and reduced ground clearance.

On the technical side, it’s worth waiting for a modified suspension and a more powerful engine. According to some, it will be a 1.6-liter 200-horsepower unit, according to others – a 2.0-liter turbo four, which develops 250 or 275 hp on the older i30 N.

Upon entering the market, the Korean novelty will compete with other nimble hatchbacks – such as the Volkswagen Polo GTI, Ford Fiesta ST or Toyota GR Yaris.
