At the Mecum auction, many unique rare cars have already been sold, which have survived to this day in single copies. In mid-July, another auction will be held, which put up an exclusive 1965 Ford GT roadster. This instance competed in the 24 hour Le Mans endurance race.
. In total, five copies of the model were collected, but only two have survived to this day. The car is built on the GT / 109 platform and is equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine and a five-speed ZF gearbox. The history of the auctioned item does not end with the participation in the race. In 1986, it was acquired by Hollywood stuntman Dean Jeffries. After his death, his son sold a unique sports car to Danu Mecum, who is the founder of the Mecum auction house. It was Mecum who ordered the complete restoration of the roadster. As a result, the Ford GT began to look the same as before participating in the cult race.
