Aston Martin announced the first assembled copy of the DBX crossover, production models will soon appear on public roads
The serial production of the first crossover in the history of the British brand – Aston Martin DBX – was launched at a new plant in South Wales, built on the territory of the former military base. The construction of the production center in Saint-Atan began a little more than four years ago.
The plant was officially opened in December 2019, but mass production started just now. The experimental assembly of the crossover began in June 2019, and in November the company showed a product sample. The first client crossovers promise to deliver at the end of this month.
While Aston Martin DBX is the only product of the new production center, but in the future, other models of the brand will be assembled here.
Recall that the Aston Martin DBX is the manufacturer’s first crossover. Its official premiere took place at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2019. The novelty is equipped with a specially modified 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from AMG with a capacity of 550 “horses” and 700 Nm of torque. To accelerate from zero to “hundreds”, the crossover needs 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is limited at around 291 km / h.
In the future, the appearance of a top-end modification with a twin-turbocharged V12 from Aston Martin DB11 is expected. In this case, the car will receive 600-700 hp, and the maximum speed will exceed 300 km / h. The main rival of the model is the Bentley Bentayga crossover. A model with a V12 will compete with the Lamborghini Urus.
